Throw Away Society

This project is a documentary investigation into the human misuse of natural resources and the planet we live on. It is designed as a social commentary of our contemporary society, which has become largely directed by capitalism, globalisation and consumerism. This has led to a ‘throw away' mentality that most of us have become accustomed to. This work is designed to increase awareness of the many issues that are occurring - to which everyone is contributing towards in some way. It is also designed to highlight some of the people who are doing something to tackle these issues, and documents each of their individual contributions.

This project has been carried out in the county of Devon, focusing on local initiatives and movements that address our problems, instead of ignoring them. The people and places in this project illustrate how change is possible and happening all around us.

'We're part of the problem, we can be part of the solution.'
