Thursday Post - The Power Of Words!!!

I started off my journey into not eating meat for many reasons, COMPASSION, KARMA, LOGIC, SUSTAINABILITY, HEALTH, ANIMAL WELFARE and several others. There was a book that kind of kick started it, 'The Higher Taste: A guide to gourmet Vegetarian cooking and a karma-free diet'. (the book is very cheap too  - £2 here) BUY THIS BOOK!!

So in it are lots of quotes, and one in particular that will always stay with me,

"If slaughterhouses had glass walls everyone would be vegetarian. We feel better about ourselves, and better about the animals knowing we are not contributing to their pain."

This quote is part of the reason I no longer eat dead animals! And they are simply words that had this positive effect!

There is one word that sticks out for me, and that is SLAUGHTERHOUSES. What the fuck are humans doing creating these places?! To me its totally illogical, cruel, wrong and unnecessary.  

Luckily humans don't have to eat dead animals, and if they ever did they can change. A change which can occur through words alone!!
